Spring has sprung, and so has the housing market
Opportunity abounds! As the inventory rolled out, buyers came knocking, hard. We’re seeing some gorgeous houses popping up all across Portland – and surrounding areas, like Milwaukie, and Beaverton – and all at surprisingly reasonable prices.
It’s already proving to be quite the opportunistic time for buyers AND sellers this Spring, and contingent offers are being accepted left, right, and center. Some additional good news: interest rates are laying low, so housing continues to be a very attractive immediate goal for many. I’m so excited for my buyers and sellers, as it appears we’re just in the beginning stages of increased accessibility for you to enter or re-enter the market.
If you’re still unsure of whether this market can work for you, don’t worry. It costs you nothing to get in touch, so that we can assess where you stand as a home buyer or seller.
Spring Scouting & Market Report

As is often the case in transitional real estate seasons, the hard numbers don’t always reflect what we are seeing and feeling on the ground. Closed and pending sales were down in February when compared to last year, but (not surprisingly) inching up from January.

Every year, Portland realtors are on the edge of their seats awaiting Portland Monthly‘s annual databomb of how each neighborhood fared throughout the year – average sales price, time spent on market, number of listings…all those sexy stats for housing nerds (like me). 2019 holds a few surprises, and you can see the results for the city here, and for surrounding suburbs here.
Willamette Week Best Of 2019
…and every year, Willamette Week runs a Best Of Portland Reader’s Poll, honoring your favorite local businesses and entrepreneurs. There’s still time to nominate before voting begins, and I’d be absolutely delighted if you’d take the time to throw my name in the hat – just click on the link, sign up, and nominate your heart out. You can also give a nod to Scout Realty Co. as best Real Estate company while you’re there!

Fundraiser for Kenton Street Fair
It’s no secret that the neighborhood of Kenton is close to my heart, having lived there for many years and watching it grow into a happy little pocket of successful, women-run small businesses. Kenton’s Street Fair is also one of the most popular in Portland, and Kenton’s Business Association is running a fundraiser to make this year’s fair the biggest and best yet. If you love Kenton as much as I do, consider throwing them your support!

Listings Update
I was all set to feature some of my latest listings in this newsletter, but to be very honest, they’re moving so fast at the moment that they’re snapped up in the blink of an eye! That’s certainly been the case with my Milwaukie mid-century, a sweet slice of architectural history at an unbeatable price. PHEW. Sellers are happy, buyers are happy, and I’m here in the mix making everyone’s dreams come true.
